Great Little Product

"Great for small repairs. Easy to use and very clean - the tip does not even need to be tinned. I probably use it more than my regular solder gun."

Could Not Solder Two Wires Together!

"I received this tool for Christmas, and after I read the booklet that came with it, I tried it out. I could not get the thing to work, it just would not melt the solder. The tool is more about how quick you can touch the end of it than how good it works. You have to hold the end on the wires just right or it won't heat up.
Yes... it's going back to Home Depot!"

Glad I Could Return This To Home Depot

"I'm glad I bought this from Home Depot, since they have a money back guarantee. This product is useless for soldering wires together. It could not even solder 20 guage wire. Since it is not recommended for electronics either, what good is it?"
Philip Fruchtman from Manalapan, NJ on 11/14/05

Not Worth The Time.

"After seeing the commercial I could not wait to get my hand on one. But after my third unit and still not more than one or two weak connections, I have to say great idea but poor product. The tips are made of a brittle carbon material that can easily break on its own from the heat it produces. If all you want is a iron that is cordless then order a butane fired unit."
Robert Peeples from Prescott Valley, AZ on 05/16/05

The Tool Is Junk

"Over hyped. It solders but is hard to activate. It will NEVER replace a soldering iron. ................................................................................................"

I Got A Defective One

"The batteries when put into the gun are loose and don't make the proper contact, causing it go go on and off. I bought it through the TV ad a few months ago in order to do some light wiring I had planned to do after the new year. I tried it tonight for the first time and was very disappointed."

Cold Heat Junk And The Stripping Tool

"Don't buy it. It doesn't work for most sodering jobs. The Stripper wouldn't even work on one piece of wire let alone 4 like the commercial did. Don't believe what you see on TV."

"When I ordered the price was $19.95, I also order an Xtra tip. Everything was unger $30. 1th It took 90 days to get my order 2th They charge me $45.75 a month before item got to me. I am very desapointed with that charge. and I will dispute the charges on my credit card and I am ready to send back the item due to long time for delivery , xtra charges and I have not try this yet."

Watch Out For Extra Costs

"In addition to the other comments (re: not for use on electronics, not heavy duty, doesn't replace a regular solding iron...) you should be forwarned that when you order you will be offered a "free" wire striping tool (as seen on TV). The web site (and I assume the 800 number does this same thing) will take your order, take your credit card info, and then offer the "Free" tool, but you must pay the shipping and handeling. The s&h is around $8, which is the same price I found the same tool for at my local hardware store."

Falls Short Of Expectations

"Not suitable for wiring sizes over 20 gauge. Not a heavy duty iron. Over sold it's capability in the advertisements."
