 Great Little Product
Posted on 03/18/08 by Cam from Minneapolis, MN
Great for small repairs. Easy to use and very clean - the tip does not even need to be tinned. I probably use it more than my regular solder gun.

Good Product-if You Know How To Use It...
Posted on 06/24/07 by Dave from PA from Pittsburgh
This cold heat iron works well if you use top quality AA cells . This cold heat soldering tool depends mostly on the current the AA cells can deliver . I have had this product 3 years now and have soldered up to 16 guage wire with no problems . this tool is NOT for constant use . Will solder several connections made up of smaller guage wire .

 Completely Unsatisifyed With Product
Posted on 06/18/06 by TOM SHINSKY from ABINGDON, MARYLAND
I received the Cold Heat Sodering Iron as a gift. I was happy to get this, as it was something I had asked for. The minute I opened it up I ran down stairs to my workshop. I read all of the instructions and proceeded to use the tool. Within less than 6 minutes it was broken and beyond being fixed. I know my way around tools and was careful, however, the quality, or lack there of, was unmistakeable!

Cold Heat Junk And The Stripping Tool
Posted on 04/22/06 by Don from Mesa AZ
Don't buy it. It doesn't work for most sodering jobs. The Stripper wouldn't even work on one piece of wire let alone 4 like the commercial did. Don't believe what you see on TV.

 Not Worth The Money!
Posted on 03/26/06 by John Kowalski from Edmonton, AB
Doesn't work well on anything that I tryed it on. The 'Tip' is brittle & the cost to replace it is about the same as buying another complete unit. Plus if you have it on for any length of time, the tip does remain HOT. Might work in a pinch, but will not replace a conventional soldering iron.

 Buy A Corded Soldering Iron!
Posted on 03/15/06 by Norm Liss from Palmdale,CA.
Good idea but a bad product! I tried to solder two speaker wires and the tip had gotten a piece of solder in-between the split tips and the tip melted together!

 Piece Of S____!
Posted on 01/10/06 by Frank M. Mateja III from Lumberton, NJ
My father-in-law ordered this crap from tv. My son has a flying model plane that needed to have some speed controllers for the electric motors to be soldered to the battery connector(which unplugs for recharging). One of my soldering irons was to hot, it started to melt the plastic on the plug. So a week later I tried this coldheat thing with new batteries and it could not even melt the solder on the tinned wire no matter how long I held it there! If I received this as a gift, I would consider it an insult!

 It's Going Back
Posted on 01/02/06 by Steve Brown from Albuquerque, NM
Loaded batteries as directed. Flipped on switch and no work light. About 2 minutes later smoke started pouring out of the switch hole. Took batteries out and they were probably 110 degrees. Rechecked the installation and the same thing happened. It's going back to COSCO today.

Could Not Solder Two Wires Together!
Posted on 12/29/05 by Jerry Fisher from Western, Pa.
I received this tool for Christmas, and after I read the booklet that came with it, I tried it out. I could not get the thing to work, it just would not melt the solder. The tool is more about how quick you can touch the end of it than how good it works. You have to hold the end on the wires just right or it won't heat up. Yes... it's going back to Home Depot!
