 Fantastic after I fixed it
Posted on 02/10/10 by Phil from Butler
Bought the American Legacy. The fret board had issues with height of two frets. Had to file down some brass to get the buzz out. But after tuning up the guitar it sounds great. I've taken it to G(xxx) center stores and compared it with 1K dollar guitars and it sounds as good. But I had to fix it first. The amp is very good. All in all worth the 130bucks.

 If Broken, Fix It
Posted on 11/22/08 by newbie player from seattle
I really like my guitar, it was very stylish and I thought sounded good. My problem was none of the electronics seemed to work. I coundn't even get the amp to power up. Being adventurous I pulled the amp apart and found one of the plugs plastic sleeve had slid back allowing the plug to bump against the fuse. I slid it back in place and tada the amp works. I'm still a newbie and you can find cheaper guitars but I do like the look of this and the lesson seem good.

Esteban Guitar = A Total Ripoff
Posted on 12/23/05 by JIm Morrison from Temecula CA
I also ordered the guitar in 10/05 from the thieves at Ingenious Designs LLC "IG." They are located at 80 Rodeo Dr. Edgewood,NY 11717. Phone is 1-800-248-3002. It was delivered with 3 parts not working, including the amp. The guitar itself was a also a piece of crap. I called an IG rep who promised to send a return label and give 100% credit, due to multiple defects. Sent it back w/i 30 days. IG stole some $36.00 by refusing to credit my card the full amount. I spoke w/ IG, who was extremely rude and hung up on me. I want to contact the Attorney General of NY. Interested in joining me? If you and other victims come forward, I will prepare and file the complaint with the N.Y.A.G. office. I was on Dateline in 2002 for my investigation of about 8 major companies like Safeway, Kroger, etc. for fraud. Jim Morrison, the wrong Consumer to ripoff

What a piece of crap. Don't buy. If you are looking for a guitar to learn on, go to a music store and try one before you buy one. FYI, WALMART is not a music store and FIRST ACTs are even bigger pieces of junk. I learned twice the hard way--You get what you pay for.

Very Good Sounding Guitar For Price
Posted on 12/27/04 by Joseph from Harrisburg, PA
this guitar was an excellent value, the accessories it came with alone were probably worth more than the 100 paid for it. I learned how to play on this guitar and became very good in the year that i've had it. I prefer it over the Peavy28electric29 that I borrowed from a friend and my other friends ovasion doesn't really sound that much better. I am going to purchase estaban's new electro2Facustic guitar package which seems to be a step up from the old package and will most likely compete with guitars in higher price ranges for a very cheap price tag

Very interesting and educational, this product is worth the money, time, effort and attention because a guitar that has all these faetures for that amount of money is worth giving a try.

 Didn't Last Long
Posted on 10/11/04 by Sharon Thorsen from Batavia, IL
We bought this guitar for a xmas present for our son last Christmas. He is currently taking lessons from a very reputable place. the guitar needs to be replaced because it's so out of wack. It's not a tuner thing, or an alignment thing. I would not recommend this product at all as we now have to buy another guitar within one year.

 The Keyword Is Starter...
Posted on 09/30/04 by Michael from Mississauga, ON
I have been playing guitar for 33 years and currently play mostly on an Ovation Balladeer Special. For a $100.00 guitar that I purchased for my daughter to learn on, I am quite satisfied. I wouldn't go out and buy for me, but for a starter it is good. I am pleased with the overall appearance. The tuners look and work fine and I see no evidence of bad workmanship. Some have complained that the strings are too far off of the neck, which might be a valid argument, but this guitar is to LEARN on and if you can play with the action on this, then you will be able to play anything. I found it quite acceptable. Again, I prefere my Ovation, but this is a STARTER guitar!
